As we approach the close of the year, we take a moment to reflect on a significant and encouraging first chapter for Men’s Futsal at Wrexham Foresters. With both the First Team and Development Squad laying strong foundations, Head Coaches Richie Jones and Gareth Jones share their thoughts on the journey so far, the challenges faced, and the excitement ahead.
First Team Reflections
Richie Jones – Head Coach
As Head Coach of the Wrexham Foresters futsal team, I’d like to wish everyone a happy Christmas.
I’d like to thank my captains and team leaders, Brad, Sam, and Adam, for their support during what has been a transitional period, as well as Gareth, Rob, and Angela for their support through the difficult challenges of integrating so many new players.
A big thank you also goes to Adam and Karin for all their support in getting this project up and running.
Despite the obstacles we’ve faced at the start of the season with a large number of injuries and suspensions, the players have got us off to a winning start, and hopefully the new year will bring them the rewards their hard work deserves.
Men’s Development Team Reflections
Gareth Jones – Head Coach
As we draw to the end of a successful year here at Wrexham Foresters, I’d like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
The senior futsal team started the season in the best possible way thanks in large to the depth of the squad as a good number of Dev team players stepped up their level, winning the first two games, and without doubt will continue working towards completing the project of reaching the highest level.
We have a great team in place to make this happen, and I’d like to thank everyone involved for their efforts.
Looking ahead to the new year, there are several exciting projects already in motion that will expand the club. I’m excited to see how these develop and where they take us next.

The progress made across both squads reflects the hard work, collaboration, and commitment being invested at every level of the club. With momentum already building and new initiatives on the horizon, 2026 promises to be an exciting chapter for Men’s Futsal at Wrexham Foresters.
