100 Goals, One Team, One Community

Reaching 100 goals in a season is a special milestone for any team and for Wrexham Foresters Women, it has become an opportunity to give back to the community that supports us.

In just 10 league and cup matches, the team reached the 100-goal mark and chose to mark the achievement by donating £2 for every goal to Wrexham Foodbank, resulting in a £200 contribution to support those in need locally.

On the pitch, the Women Foresters have enjoyed an outstanding debut season. The team currently sits top of the Central Wales North Ladies League with seven straight league wins and has progressed to the last 16 of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, eliminating two good Tier 2 sides along the way. Across all competitions, the squad has won all 10 matches played so far, scoring 109 goals in the process.

The landmark 100th goal was scored on Sunday, December 7, during a league victory over Newtown, with goals shared across the squad. The scoring in that match reflected the collective nature of the team’s attacking play, with contributions from across the group.

Player-manager Kirstie Kural reflected on the achievement, highlighting the collective effort behind it and the standards the squad has set throughout the season, while also expressing pride in the consistency and commitment shown by the players week after week.

Club Chairman Gethin Prytherch added that the milestone perfectly reflects both the team’s performance and the club’s values, noting how proud the club is of the women’s side in its first season and how important it was to celebrate the achievement in a way that benefits the local community.

The women’s team is part of Wrexham City Football Club, a grassroots community club formed less than a year ago, which is already making a strong impression within Welsh football. With continued support from players, volunteers, sponsors, and the wider community, the club remains focused on building something sustainable, competitive, and rooted in giving back.

The Foresters return to Welsh Cup action on January 4, taking on Llandudno with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
