Marketing firm Zebra sponsor Wrexham City Foresters

Wrexham Foresters are now supported by local marketing company, Zebra Marketing and Communications (Zebra).

The women’s team is part of Wrexham City Football Club, a new grassroots community club which was formed about a year ago. The club is already making waves within the Welsh football community, with some impressive wins in Division Three of the Central Wales North Ladies League, which is overseen by the Football Association of Wales (FAW).

This latest sponsorship deal is the third sponsor to be attracted to the club, and Zebra joins two other local women-led businesses – EM Creative and Little Miss Paint Pot – in supporting the Foresters.

Clara Hughes, director at Zebra said: “It is so exciting to see a local club performing so well so soon after its formation. In its first year, the club is already making its mark within women’s football and playing some great matches. I am pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor the women’s team at this early stage. I came down to watch the match today [February 15] and the team won against Welshpool 9-0. I am looking forward to following them and seeing how they perform through into next season too.

“Our business has had an office in Wrexham since day one and over the last 15 years I have seen some exciting developments in the city. I am proud to be able to support a community club in this small way, specially as the club’s values of sustainability, compassion and passion, open communication, respect and ethics align with our own.”

Kirstie Kural, women’s team manager at Wrexham Foresters, added: “We would like to extend a warm welcome to Zebra. We are a local, community, grassroots club that aims to provide clear pathways for young people interested in sport. There’s more to football than just kicking a ball: teamwork, respect and inclusivity all have their parts to play, and this is why we are keen to encourage the female business community to support our women’s team.”

Club chairman, Gethin Prytherch was also very happy to welcome the club’s latest sponsor. He said: “Our women’s team has had a great initial season, playing in division three. They are exciting to watch and are already developing a passionate fan base. We want to provide strong role-models for players coming through – both on and off the pitch – so we are looking for women-owned local businesses to support and sponsor the team.”
